Group Strength Training

Small-Group Strength Training Classes in La Habra

Forty-five minutes, eight people at most, your own station, and a trainer with you the whole session. Every rep is read by an AI-based strength measurement system.

How a class works.

You book a session, show up, and train alongside seven other people at most. You have your own station, and a trainer runs the floor for the full forty-five minutes.

Everyone follows the same program, and every load is set to the person. A beginner and an experienced lifter train in the same room at the same time, because your weight is set from what your body produces that day.

The whole gym runs on an AI-based strength measurement system. It reads exactly what level of effort you are putting in on every rep and makes sure you are in the right strength-building and muscle-building zone at all times. No junk reps.

Formerly La Habra CrossFit.

If you searched for CrossFit, you found the right place. The Strength Laboratory was formerly La Habra CrossFit. The coached group and the hard work are still here.

What changed is the measurement. Every set is read by the AI-based strength measurement system, every load is set to what your body can do that day, and you are measured again on six instruments every six weeks.

Your conditioning is built into the lifting.

No treadmill and no running. The rest between sets is set on purpose, so the strength session also trains your heart and lungs. You leave breathing hard from the lifting itself.

How we train →

The program changes every six weeks.

Your body adapts to whatever you repeat. Every six weeks the program rotates to new variations of the same movement patterns, so the work keeps producing results, and that is when we measure you again to show you what changed.

Why the program changes every six weeks.

One system for everyone.

Men and women gain strength and muscle at a similar rate relative to where they start, and that response holds up into the seventies and beyond. So everyone here trains on the same system, and only the loads change from person to person.

I’ve been training with Brandon at the Strength Laboratory for approximately 2 months. Brandon’s knowledge, patience, and motivational skills are off the charts. He carefully explains each exercise, and the muscle group being affected, and watches to make sure I’m performing the exercise properly. I feel better, my strength and blood pressure have improved, and I look forward to each training session.

Is this like CrossFit?

The Strength Laboratory was formerly La Habra CrossFit. You still train hard in a coached group. Every load here is set from what the AI-based strength measurement system reads, so the work matches what your body can do that day.

I have never trained in my life.

Then you are exactly who this was built for. Your weight is set from what your body produces on the day, so a beginner and an experienced lifter can train in the same room at the same time.

Do I have to do cardio?

No treadmill and no running. Your conditioning is built into the lifting.

When are classes?

Mornings and evenings, by appointment. New times are added as classes fill, so check the live schedule or call (562) 245-6460.

Can I add personal training?

Yes. Class plus private gives you the class schedule with one-on-one sessions added in.

What does it cost?

It depends on how often you train and how long a term you choose. We go through it after we measure you, so the recommendation matches what your numbers say.
