One-on-One Personal Training in La Habra

A program written for your body, a trainer beside you every session, and an AI-based strength measurement system reading every rep.

What one-on-one gets you.

Your program is written for your body. We measure you first, find what your body is compensating for, and build every session around what we find and what you want to change.

A trainer is beside you the whole session. We watch how you move, correct it on the rep, and set your next load from what the system reads.

The whole gym runs on an AI-based strength measurement system. It reads exactly what level of effort you are putting in on every rep and makes sure you are in the right strength-building and muscle-building zone at all times. No junk reps.

Corrective work happens one on one.

Years of sitting, driving and old injuries leave patterns in the body: a hip that will not extend, a shoulder that will not rotate, a knee that drifts inward under load. The movement and posture screen in your first visit finds them.

A pattern changes under load. We program loaded exercise against the specific deviations your screen found and coach every rep until the pattern changes. That work belongs to one body, which is why it lives in personal training.

The research behind it.

Strength is the number one predictor of how long you will live. In a study of nearly 140,000 adults across 17 countries, strength predicted death better than blood pressure. The strongest people lived the longest.

Leong et al., The Lancet, 2015 (the PURE study).

There is no point where more muscle stops helping. Older adults carrying the most muscle had markedly lower mortality than those carrying the least.

Srikanthan & Karlamangla, American Journal of Medicine, 2014.

Adults who do resistance training have a lower risk of dying from any cause.

Saeidifard et al., European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, 2019 (meta-analysis).

Every program here is built on that research, every rep is read by the AI-based strength measurement system, and every six weeks we measure you again on the same six instruments to show you what changed. No one else is doing that.

★★★★★

I’ve been training with Brandon at the Strength Laboratory for approximately 2 months. Brandon’s knowledge, patience, and motivational skills are off the charts. He carefully explains each exercise, and the muscle group being affected, and watches to make sure I’m performing the exercise properly. I feel better, my strength and blood pressure have improved, and I look forward to each training session.

Questions

How is personal training different from a class here?

Both run on the same method and the same AI-based strength measurement system. A class trains the qualities everybody needs. Personal training adds what belongs to your body alone: corrective work for what your screen found, a program written around your goals and your history, and the number of sessions you choose.

How long is a personal training session?

Twenty-five minutes, or fifty minutes if you want the longer block.

How many times a week should I train?

Most people train two to three times a week. We set the number from your Longevity Analysis.

Can I train with an injury?

Usually, yes. We measure first and program around what your body can do. If you are still under a provider’s care, we ask that they clear you before you train with us. More on post-rehab training.

I have never trained in my life.

Then you are exactly who this was built for. Your load is set from what your body produces on the day, so you start where you are.

What does personal training cost?

It depends on how often you train and how long a term you choose. We go through it after we measure you, so the recommendation matches what your numbers say.

Do you offer online personal training?

Yes, for people outside the area. Call the gym at (562) 245-6460.

Where are you located?
